It’s all the rage. The farmhouse decor has hit main stream and even those of us that don’t live on a farm or anywhere NEAR a farm are implementing this decor into the homes. Why, you ask? Why does this style appeal to the masses?
For one, it really does have a calming and comforting vibe. Let’s face it, whites, pale neutrals, fluffy white blankets, raw, neutral colored woods, jute rugs, reclaimed wood (authentic or not), chalk painted furniture, etc, etc, are soothing, simple, easy to match, and very clean looking without being sterile. It’s not fussy or pretentious. It’s easy to incorporate family heirlooms or found objetcs. Plus, you can find the decor everywhere you look. If you have a Hobby Lobby or Michael’s craft store take a walk down the aisles and you’ll see what I am talking about. Take a look at some pinterest inspiration for a whole house makeover. I’ve included whole home style ideas from vignettes, cupboards, fabrics, rugs, window treatments, and more. If this doesn’t get you in the decorating mood….
